In the year B.E. 2533, Prof.Dr.Ukrit Mongkolnavin established the first center of Pierra-Navin Nursery at the office of Pierra Maternity & Child Welfare Foundation, 187 South Sathorn Road, Yannawa Subdistrict, Sathorn District, Bangkok 10120; where it was successful in assisting poverty stricken families, as parents and guardians brought their children between the ages of 2 to 6 years to be admitted to the nursery. They brought their children to the nursery in the morning and took the children home in the evening.  The children were duly developed according to their ages, while the parents went to work without worry regarding the safety of their children, allowing them to improve their income level.

In the year B.E. 2537, Sathron Property Co., Ltd. was appointed to develop the land of The Maternity & Child Welfare Foundation at South Sathorn Road, pursuant to the policy of the Foundation, enabling it to use the returns of this operation to expand their assistance to children from poverty stricken families, by establishment of similar type nursery centers in needed areas in various regions.

The Ekamai Center, which Pierra Maternity & Child Welfare Foundation entered into a lease agreement for 3 years (B.E. 2537-2539), located at 45 Ekamai Soi 28 (Soi Prasertdee), Ekamai Road, Khlong Tan Subdistrict, Khlong Toey District, Bangkok 10110  was the first  “Pierra-Navin Nursery”.  It was inaugurated on 2^nd May, B.E. 2537, there were 3 classrooms with 109 pupils who came from poverty stricken families in Nuannoi Commune, Nuanchit Commune, Khlong Paeng Commune, Soi Yadong Commune and Soi Wat Bhasi Commune, etc.

The Ekamai Center, in addtion, served as the temporary office of Pierra Maternity & Child Welfare Foundation prior to moving to 31/2 Phaholyothin Soi 47, Phaholyothin Road, Ladyao Subdistrict, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900.
